Isabel is a Registered Nurse (RN), a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), and a Nursing PhD student in Portland, OR. She developed her specialty in post-surgical abdominal adhesions during her early years as an injury-recovery massage therapist. She started her private practice as an LMT in 2007. Since 2009, Isabel has focused almost exclusively on expanding her skills working with all forms of abdominal scar tissue, adhesions, bowel obstructions, and more.
In 2013, Isabel began teaching workshops to other LMTs, eventually becoming a NCBTMB board approved continuing education provider. She later expanded her teaching to Physical Therapists; Nurse instruction is now in development. She fervently wants qualified practitioners all over the country and the world to be able to recognize and help people with abdominal adhesions. She anticipates she will make more progress with this as she navigates her PhD process.
Isabel feels a deep commitment to her community and continues to develop ways to make sure access to her clinic’s specialty is equitable.
