My Work . . .

Isabel SpradlinOver the last fifteen years (plus) I have developed many resources for people wanting to find relief from abdominal adhesions and other abdominal distress.  This includes problems like: post-surgical adhesions, bowel obstructions, pain after giving birth (especially after c-sections), digestive dis-ease (as with SIBO and IBS), undiagnosed abdominal pain, and more.

I maintain my in-person practice in Portland, OR and I only intake clients who are wanting to focus on abdominal care.  As a licensed massage therapist I am capable of, and highly trained in, working with the whole body but I primarily focus on in-depth work with the belly/abdomen. I am also a Registered Nurse (RN) and bring these assessment abilities and education to my work.

My natural talents and inclination have led me to work mostly in post-surgical situations.  However, I always love working with people who have never had surgery, so don’t hesitate to engage if that’s you.

I have a whole separate website that I started many years ago to educate people about what abdominal adhesions are and how to work with them through self-care at home.  I also have developed (with my colleague Angela Severson, LMT) an introductory program to teach massage therapists how to bring abdominal massage into their own work (also on that website).

Here it is (this will take you to the other learning website):

I was also extremely honored in 2020 to be nominated by some of my favorite referral partners for Portland Monthly’s Top Medicine Providers award.

I am also a NCBTMB approved continuing education provider. This is currently on hold, but I have previously spent a lot of time teach business skills to other massage therapists who want to run their own thriving practices.

Here is that website:
